Designer Norma Kamali is to create an exclusive collection for the world’s largest retailer Wal-Mart, cementing the retailer’s dedication to fashion going forward.
The designer will launch a lifestyle brand under her own name which will include categories such as womenswear, children's clothing, accessories, footwear and home, all at mass-market prices.
According to reports, more collaborations are in the pipeline. Kamali said: “I saw this as an opportunity for me to put together a lot of things I am personally interested in. There are always things you want to do at a great price and can’t, because you don’t have the volume."
The designer did not disclose details of the collection but said it would centre on product that is appropriate for everyone's wardrobe.
