Kaporal Jeans enters UK market

French denim brand Kaporal Jeans has appointed RMH Distribution to launch the brand in the UK and Ireland for autumn 11.

RMH Distribution, distributor for streetwear brands Phat Farm and Karl Kani, will handle the distribution of Kaporal Jeans.

Kaporal, which was founded in 2003 and offers vintage-inspired jeans, T-shirts, sweatshirts, said its annual sales were over €100m (£83.5m). It has over 1,000 stockists in France. Kaporal will be exhibiting its autumn 11 collection at Berlin tradeshow Bread & Butter.

RMH Distribution managing partner Mike Hirsch said Kaporal is “one of the most exciting brands to come out of Europe in the last decade, yet conspicuously absent from UK high streets until now”. He added: “There’s a big gap in the market for a brand like this.”
