Karen Millen appoints accessories partner

Karen Millen is set to expand its range of accessories after signing up Global Brands Group (GBG) as its international bags and accessories licence partner.

GBG will expand Karen Millen’s bags and small accessories ranges beyond its standalone stores and online channel into multi-brand environments and global department stores.

The appointment is part of Karen Millen’s wider growth strategy. The first accessories and bags collection is set to launch internationally, in store and online, for autumn 19.

The partnership follows the June announcement of Karen Millen’s footwear licensing partnership with Pentland Brands.

Karen Millen chief executive Beth Butterwick said: “Over the last three decades, our customers have loved and appreciated the design detail and quality of our bags and small accessories.

“In order to successfully drive our next phase of growth, I am delighted that we are entering into a licensing partnership with GBG.

”With a long-standing track record of working with other brands to build their global presence and with their expert level of knowledge in designing beautifully crafted accessories, we are excited about what we can develop collectively, to surprise and delight Karen Millen’s International customer base.”

GBG also holds licences for brands including Calvin Klein, Under Armour, Dockers and Kate Spade New York.
