Kate Spade opens European flagship in London

US womenswear label Kate Spade is to open its first European flagship store in Chelsea, London.

The 4,000sq ft store on the Cadogan Estate is due to open by September and will stock the full range of Kate Spade clothing and accessories. The store is located on the cross-section of Symons Street and Pavilion Road.

Kate Spade had trialled its collection in the UK market when it opened a pop-up shop in Covent Garden in October 2010. The store traded on Henrietta Street for one month.

Edward Humbert, senior director of central London retail at commercial real estate advisor CB Richard Ellis, said: “The flagship store fits perfectly with the exciting plans for both Kings Road and Sloane Square and the Estate is now in an even stronger position to attract further leading international fashion brands to the area.”

Other stores recently let in the same area include lifestyle retailer and brand The White Company, cashmere clothing retailer Brora and shoe designer Beatrix Ong.
