Accessories brand Kate Spade New York is launching its first full-price standalone store outside London at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent.
The brand is set to open a 1,600 sq ft store in the shopping complex’s Lower Guildhall area this Christmas. It will stock handbags, small leather goods, apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, technology and stationery.
The store has been designed by architecture firm Househam Henderson.
As a result of the store opening, English lifestyle brand Aspinal of London has relocated to a 1,300 sq ft unit on the Upper Guildhall.
Deborah Lloyd, president and chief creative officer of Kate Spade New York, said: “With a reputation as the leading retail and leisure destination in the UK, Bluewater was a clear choice for our first full price store outside London.”
This opening marks the brand’s fifth location in the UK. It also operates stores in Regent Street, Covent Garden, Sloane Square and Westfield London.
Kate Spade opened its first store in New York in 1996 and has more than 450 doors worldwide.
Other brands signing for space at Bluewater earlier this year include Coach and fashion etailer Missguided.
