KatyRose brings French dressing to UK market

Former Morgan UK buying director Katy Solomons has launched an online and retail concept called KatyRose to bring French womenswear brands to the UK market.

Solomons, who left Morgan three years ago after 15 years with the company, has set up a website for independent buyers showcasing about 20 French brands. Retailers can buy direct from suppliers via the site, at

Buyers must sign up to join the site, which costs between £500 and £1,000 per month depending on the size of the retailer.

Solomons said: "I set up this concept to give power back to small shops. Independent buyers can buy as much or as little as they like and benefit from discounts of between 10% and 20%. Buyers can retain their independence and individuality by buying directly from the French suppliers."

She plans to grow the business to include 300 members by the end of the year.

Members can also become franchisees, with the first KatyRose shop set to open in the UK in August.

"It will open in Kent and I hope to have 30 franchises in the UK in the next two years," said Solomons.

Her first shop opened in Paris last month.
