US brand Kenneth Cole has announced a four-year distribution deal with UK company GBG Europe Footwear and Accessories in a bid to expand the brand globally.
GBG will manufacture and distribute handbags and accessories, and solely distribute footwear, in select countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Kenneth Cole brand footwear distribution is due to launch for autumn 18, and Kenneth Cole New York and Reaction lines will launch in spring 19.
The agreement also permits GBG to manufacture and distribute briefcases, luggage, portfolio, backpacks and small leather goods.
Kenneth Cole CEO Marc Schneider said: “We are looking forward to having a central European-based partner who specializes in footwear and is able to offer best in class service to department stores and independent retailers in these regions. We are excited about this partnership and the growth opportunities it affords us in these categories of our business.”
GBG managing director Mike Hiscock said: “Kenneth Cole and his brand defined the standard for New York style and social consciousness for more than three decades. We believe that the Kenneth Cole brand has tremendous potential to resonate with consumers far beyond the levels it is currently reaching and we ae excited to introduce the product to new customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”
GBG is part of the Fung Group, which manages licensing for other brands including AllSaints, Kate Spade New York and Fiorelli.
