Kering appoints chief client and digital officer

Luxury brand group Kering has named former eBay executive Grégory Boutté as its new chief client and digital officer.

Boutté will join the group’s executive committee, reporting directly to managing director Jean-François Palus.

In his new role, he will oversee the group’s digital transformation and develop its ecommerce, customer relationship management and data management capabilities.

Boutté worked at eBay for a decade from 2000 in various roles, including vice president of its continental Europe division, country manager for eBay France and vice president of its motors and electronics operations.

He joins Kering from online learning platform Udemy, where he was vice president of content from 2015. Before that, he was chief revenue officer at peer-to-peer ride-sharing platform Sidecar for two years.

Kering’s brand portfolio includes Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga and Christopher Kane. Kering is also developing sport and lifestyle brands Puma and Cobra.
