Kestin Hare to open London flagship

Kestin Hare, the former creative director of Common People and head of design at Nigel Cabourn, will open a flagship store for his eponymous menswear brand in Shoreditch, east London, at the end of this month.

The 2,400 sq ft unit at 42-44 Rivington Street, which until recently housed Start London’s womenswear boutique, will be split into a 1,200 sq ft Kestin Hare showroom and 1,200 sq ft of retail space.

It will stock Kestin Hare and some complimentary third-party brands, such as Han Kjobenhavn sunglasses and Veja footwear.

The business will begin taking showroom appointments in London from July 20 and the store is expected to open by August.

Hare, who has another store 46 Saint Stephen Street in Edinburgh, said: “We’ve been on the lookout for a London base for some time now. Shoreditch was our preferred area, and a perfect fit. This marks a change in pace for the Kestin Hare brand, and will give us the global platform we’ve been looking for.

“This has been made possible by our new Japanese investor Masataka Fujino and is the first step in our retail rollout strategy.”

Menswear brand Common People began trading under the name Kestin Hare in January.
