Kevin Stone launches new lifestyle store

Kevin Stone, owner of The Stone Agencies, has opened a new lifestyle independent store in Wiltshire, called No59.

The 600 sq ft shop, which features clothing and homeware, is located at 59 Northgate Street, Devizes, and opened its doors for the first time on 25 August.

The store will be run by Stone’s wife Hilly Stone who is his business partner in the venture. Brands include Armor Lux, On the Rise, Edwin and Baracuta.

The Stones live six miles from Devizes and the family is involved in local community projects which forms part of the retailer’s customer relationship model, according to Stone.

He told Drapers: ”We decided to launch it as a project after we found the right space and business rates were scrapped for bulildings [which have a rateable value of less than] £12,000. My wife has worked in education for the last 10 years which suited our young family but now the children are older she wanted a change.

”The shop has had a wonderful reaction. We’ve been inspired by many great stores and their edits over the years. Our brand mix has been curated, researched, and loved.”

Stone, former sales and marketing director of Fred Perry and ex-European sales director of Ben Sherman, is also owner of The Stone Consultancy and partner in the Baracuta store in London.
