Kidswear indie Ten Little Monkeys to close

Ten Little Monkeys, the Cheshire kidswear independent, is to close after five years of trading.

Owners Claire Yildirim and Emma Wright set up Ten Little Monkeys in 2008 after spotting a market for a premium kidswear shop in Wilmslow. Its brands included No Added Sugar and Diesel.

It is unclear why the shop is closing but a text message sent by Wright to the store’s database on Thursday said: “It’s with great sadness that we wanted you to know Ten Little Monkeys is closing down … Thank you for all your support over the past five years. It meant a lot to us.”

Ten Little Monkeys was highly commended for Best New Business at the Drapers Awards in 2010 and listed in Drapers Top 100 Inspiring Indies in 2013.
