Kidswear sales at John Lewis soared 29% year on year for the week to May 14, rallied by the warmer weather.
Wearable technology also performed strongly, up 352% compared to 2015, as shoppers invested in products to help “healthy lifestyles”.
Fashion sales edged up 2.2% for the week, while total sales were up 4% to £73.1m.
Simon Russell, retail operations development director at John Lewis, said: “Continuing on from previous weeks, the weather played its part in influencing when our customers were shopping and what they were buying. Fashion finished the week up despite going up against a week that last year featured various price matching activity of competitor promotions.”
