Knomo crowdfunds for its 'smart backpack'

Accessories brand Knomo has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise awareness of and funding for its new smart backpack design.

The #LiveFree backpack offers wireless mobile phone charging and Bluetooth location tracking, and comes in a water-repellent cotton canvas develop by British Millerain Co.

It also includes a pocket with RFID (radio frequency identification) blocking, where users can stores their phones, credit cards and passports, to help prevent identity theft.

Knomo has set a total funding goal of £50,000. Early investors can pledge the minimum of £162 to get a free backpack with Bluetooth tracker. At the top end, those who pledge £314 or more will receive a backpack with Bluetooth tracker, wireless charging and a charging case for iPhones.

Howard Harrison, CEO and co-founder of Knomo, said the Kickstarter campaign would give people an insight into its product development “that we’ve never shared before”.

The bags will be ready for delivery in September 2017.
