Koovs reaches £10m sales ahead of target

Indian fashion etailer Koovs has reported sales increased 189% year on year to reach INR981m (£10m) for the year to March 31.

Website visits rose 110% year on year and weekly traffic consistently exceeds 1 million visits per week, Koovs said.

The site ended the period with 1 million registered users, up by 226% over the year.

Koovs has launched new categories including denim and basics, as well as designer collaborations with Henry Holland, Giles Deacon and Manish Arora.

It has also signed a new partnership with London-based illustrator Hattie Stewart.

“Our focus is to bring affordable western fashion to the growing urban, aspirational, youth movement in India – a market that represents 75% of all online transactions across India,” said chief executive Mary Turner.

On the new collaboration, she added: “Hattie Stewart is one of the most interesting designers coming out of London right now. Her fresh and playful style correlates exactly with our target market.”
