The parent company of lingerie brand La Perla has appointed luxury fashion veteran John Hooks as chief executive.
Hooks, who has been in the luxury fashion industry for over 35 years, was commercial and retail director at Jil Sander from 1995 until 2000. He worked at Giorgio Armani between 2000 and 2011 first as group commercial and marketing director before becoming deputy chairman in 2009.
From 2011 to 2014 he was group president of Ralph Lauren Europe and the Middle East.
He has also been a non-executive director of Manchester United since November 2012 and is on the board of Miroglio Fashion.
He has now joined Pacific Global Management (PGM Group), the holding company that controls La Perla and model agency business Elite World, as chief executive. He will also serve as executive chairman of Elite World and director on the board of La Perla.
He will work with Stefania Valenti, chief executive of Elite World, and Silvio Scaglia, executive chairman of La Perla.
PGM Group has expected revenues of over €300m (£213m) in 2015.
