Sapinda Holding has appointed Pascal Perrier as group chief executive of La Perla, the lingerie brand it acquired in February this year.
The investment company has been carrying out a full restructuring and turnaround of the business and its operations since the acquisition, with the aim of improving profitability and transforming it into a leading luxury powerhouse.
Sapinda promoted Alessandra Bertuzzi to head creative director after the departure of Julia Haart, and is working with management consultancy Bain & Company on the turnaround plan.
Perrier joins La Perla from Burberry, which he joined in 2005 as executive vice-president of business development before becoming chief executive for Asia-Pacific in 2009. He has also held senior roles at Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
He said: “La Perla is an iconic brand and one of the world’s leading players in the luxury space. I am very pleased and impressed with the work done by Sapinda and the La Perla team in the last six months and the large potential that this business offers.”
“The luxury fashion and lingerie sector is full of opportunity due to the rapid pace of change with which consumers and other cultural stakeholders are now engaging with luxury brands,” added Sapinda chief executive Lars Windhorst. “There are few more experienced people to navigate us through these opportunities and take the brand to the next level than someone with the luxury fashion industry clout and know-how of Pascal.”
