Italian lingerie brand and retailer La Perla will launch its first collection of shapewear pieces, called ShapeCouture, to buyers next month.
The collection will be unveiled during lingerie trade show Mode City, which runs from September 4 to 6 at Porte de Versailles, Paris.
The spring 11 capsule collection will feature pieces that have shaping control panels but still retain a high fashion and glamour look.
La Perla said the sexiness and femininity for which the brand is known would be retained through effects such as a criss-cross design on high-waist briefs and suspender belt corsets and sheer panels on the sides of a full slip.
The ShapeCouture collection will use a range of lightweight fabrics with a 30% Lycra content.
La Perla said the collection was inspired by Italian actresses as Silvana Mangano and Sofia Loren and is feminine in its styling but is based around strong black and red pieces.
