La Senza sales up 10%

La Senza reported a 10% increase in like-for-like sales over the Christmas trading period.

The lingerie retailer, which launched a new store concept in December, said its new Enfield and Silverburn stores had helped to boost sales.

La Senza added that a strong product offering, prominent window displays and press coverage about the new face of the brand, supermodel Petra Nemcova, have also contributed to the strong Christmas period.

Chief executive Rose Foster said: "We are extremely pleased with our results for Christmas 2007, especially when you consider how tough it has been on the high street. Both our sales and margins have improved on last year. Moreover, we are looking ahead to 2008 and beyond to build on this success. As well as an aggressive store opening plan, we have a number of exciting product launches planned for spring, including the new Precision Fit bra, the first bra in the UK with padding tailored to your cup size."
