Lacoste Chaussures is planning a relaunch of and greater focus on its women’s footwear collection for spring 16, as it looks to drive up sales.
The brand, which is produced under licence with Pentland Brands, has installed a new team based at its headquarters in north London to redevelop the women’s collection.
As part of the new focus on women’s footwear, Lacoste Chaussures surveyed around 12,000 consumers via an independent agency to better understand its female consumers.
“The insights have shown there are some fantastic opportunities for Lacoste women’s footwear, so the brand has invested in a team focusing on a refreshed women’s proposition starting from spring 16,” said Chirag Patel, global vice president of product and marketing for Lacoste Chaussures.
In June this year Pentland promoted Richard Newcombe to the position of brand president at Lacoste Chaussures to drive brand development, replacing Andy Simister who left in the previous October.
Newcombe has worked in the footwear industry for 27 years and was most recently vice president of global sales at Lacoste Chaussures.
