Lanvin's Elbaz honoured in WGSN Global Fashion Awards

Lanvin artistic director Alber Elbaz was named the most influential womenswear designer in the world at the inaugural Global Fashion Awards held by trend forecaster WGSN in New York.

ASOS won the prize for outstanding etailer of the year, and Harold Tillman, chairman of the British Fashion Council and owner of premium retailers Jaegar and Aquascutum, was honoured for the most outstanding contribution to fashion.

The awards, which were judged by a 60-strong panel of industry experts and were the first to judge the contribution of fashion businesses and industry leaders on a global basis.
