Brighton footwear independent Last has launched its first online store selling an exclusive mix of designer footwear.
The four-year-old business works on a “slow fashion” philosophy, which involves concentrating on quality and design-led footwear that is not fixed to trends but focuses on longevity of the product.
Last opened in 2004 as a bespoke footwear workshop but now also offers styles from smaller brands. It sells more than 50 women’s and men’s brands including Cydwoq, Narrative and Tracey Neuls, plus bags from Sonya Kashmiri.
Owner Alex Herdman, who still offers a bespoke footwear service at the store, said: “There are a lot of handmade designs, things that are repairable and good quality. The website is a great way to make use of my mailing list. All the product is on the website and we deliver internationally. It has already generated more interest from my existing customers.”
Last’s footwear retails from about £50 to £300, with bespoke styles starting at £500.
