Accessories boost fashion sales at John Lewis

Fashion sales at John Lewis were up 1.2% for the week to 16 February compared to the same period last year, the retailer’s latest figures show.

In the week which included Valentine’s Day, women’s accessories sales rose by 10.9% year on year driven by demand for premium brands.

John Lewis total sales were down 3.4% compared to 2018.

Total sales for John Lewis Partnership, including Waitrose, dropped 0.6% to £206.4m.

This week the department store announced the shortlist of entrepreneurs for the next round of its JLab retail innovation programme, with a focus on transforming the in-store experience.
