Anya Hindmarch returns to brand as MD

Anya Hindmarch, founder of the eponymous luxury goods label, has been reappointed as managing director after stepping down as CEO in 2011.

She will resume control of the business, which she founded in 1987, while continuing her role as creative director.

Hindmarch takes over from former chief executive Antoine Bejui, who left the company in April.

The announcement comes after the business was sold in March to British investors and property developers the Marandi family.

Hindmarch said: “In a rapidly changing retail and global environment, it’s time for businesses to be brave and decisive.

“We have been transforming our business model since 2017, taking advantage of our strengths in creativity, experiential and direct to consumer.”

In its latest full-year results, Anya Hindmarch made an EBITDA loss of £17m.
