Black Friday 'here to stay'

Black Friday is here to stay as the majority of UK shoppers delay purchases until promotional events, research by shopping centre owner Hammerson has shown.

The research found that 40% of Britons identify as “Bargain Shoppers”, and 88% of consumers will wait for the best deal before making a purchase.

Driving Black Friday Sales, 46% of shoppers cited that getting a “great bargain” was the biggest factor in their most enjoyable shopping trips.

The data also showed that 66% of UK consumers would shop instore over online for fashion if they had to make a choice.

The research found that 52% of shoppers regretted not snapping up a bargain compared to 36% who had doubts over completed purchases.
