Boohoo reverses wool ban

Boohoo Group has reversed last week’s decision to stop using wool in its designs by autumn 19.

The Manchester-based online fashion retailer has now announced that it will “continue to use wool as a sustainable material” after facing a backlash to its ban last week.

Just hours after the ban was announced, the company released a revised statement saying: “Boohoo continues to assess all options as part of its ongoing commitment to a more sustainable future.

“We are committed to ensuring the wool used in our supply chain comes from good husbandry and meets high levels of animal welfare, and will continue to use wool as a sustainable material.”

Boohoo Group’s ban on wool was praised by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for its action against animal cruelty.
