Bright to 'take a break' in January

Berlin streetwear trade show Bright will not be holding an exhibition in January, as organisers take a step back to consider its future.

A statement on the website reads: “To make [Bright] even stronger next year we are taking a break and won’t be hosting a dedicated Bright show in January. We need time to reload, work on new concepts and form opportunities.”

Drapers understands the show will continue but the team is recalibrating its focus following the popularity of a consumer area at the show in July.

The news comes after Bright founders Marco Aslim and Thomas Martini stepped down from their roles in January after 13 years.

Bright was acquired by German trade show group in Premium in 2015, and has been held in Berlin since 2010.

Premium owns three other Berlin trade shows – Premium, Seek, and Show & Order.
