Canada Goose acquires footwear company

Luxury outerwear brand Canada Goose has bought footwear maker Baffin for $32.5m (£19m).

Baffin, which designs and manufactures performance outdoor and industrial footwear, will exist as a wholly owned subsidiary of Canada Goose following the acquisition and will continue to operate from its current headquarters in Ontario.

Toronto-based Canada Goose has flagship stores across Canada and America, with international stores in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

President and chief executive Dani Reiss said the strategic and long-term investment of acquiring Baffin is an important first step in Canada Goose’s footwear journey.

He said: “As we continue to execute our current growth initiatives and build an enduring brand for generations to come, Baffin provides us with valuable infrastructure and know-how to start exploring the exciting global footwear category.”
