Clearance continues to boost John Lewis sales

Fashion sales at John Lewis for the week to 12 January jumped 4.9% compared with 2018, driven by customers shopping the Sale and starting to buy into spring ranges.

Total sales at the department store chain for the week were up 0.7% on last year.

Women’s accessories performed particularly well – up 19.2% year on year. Kidswear, nursery and haberdashery sales increased 7.3% compared with the same week in 2018.
