First look: Michael Kors Collection store on Bond Street

US brand Michael Kors launched its new Collection store concept in London’s Mayfair today.

It features an array of products from the Michael Kors Collection line, including both men’s and women’s catwalk pieces for the first time, as well as handbags, accessories and footwear. There is also a VIP space for “top” clients and celebrities.

Housed in a six-storey townhouse on Old Bond Street, the 2,939 sq ft shop was inspired by Kors’ properties in New York and Miami, but also stays true to the building’s surroundings.

Kors explained: “The new store design puts an emphasis on warm textures and a sense of residential ease that shines a spotlight on the workmanship and design of Michael Kors Collection apparel and accessories.”

He added, to Vogue: “This is a new store concept for us and I think that it demonstrates how we see luxury today.”
