French resale site launches in UK

French online retailer Patatam is bringing its second-hand clothing online venture to the UK.

Owners Eric Gagnaire, Marieve Bidart and Mathieu Bidart have been working with investors to support the launch in the UK. Previously focusing on kidswear, the company now also includes pre-owned women’s clothing online in both France and the UK.

Clothes are sourced from companies and charities including textile recycling company Cash4Clothes, and Patatam’s team of buyers at  examines items before they are purchased for the site. Prices are capped at £19.99 per item for women and £14.99 for children.

Patatam launched in France in 2013. It hopes to move into other European countries after the UK launch.
