International sellers introduced on AliExpress

Chinese retail giant Alibaba has expanded its AliExpress platform for small business, allowing retailers from outside China to sell goods through the marketplace.

Third-party sellers from Spain, Italy, Russia and Turkey will be introduced to the platform, which currently sells to 150 countries.

Previously, AliExpress only supported Chinese retailers.

Alibaba will focus on recruiting small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), which it believes “are the driving force of every economy, and we want AliExpress to become a place where SMEs worldwide can thrive and benefit from global trade”.

A spokeswoman added that the expansion “fulfils our mission to make it easy to do business anywhere”.
