Little Black Dress hires ex-Boohoo buying director

Etailer Little Black Dress has appointed former Boohoo buying director Debbi Ball as its new fashion director.

Ball joins from Boohoo where she led the buying team for four years.

Before that, she worked at retailers including Asos, Topshop and the Shop Direct Group.

At Little Black Dress Ball will oversee the next phase of the Manchester-based business’s product development.

The appointment is the first of several investments planned for this year. The etailer, backed by singer Alesha Dixon, will be expanding its brand and product portfolio, including the development of a “luxury house brand”.

Mark Evans, Little Black Dress chief executive, said: “Debbi will bring with her, an undoubted flair for fashion and the invaluable experiences she has gained from working in fast moving and fast growing ecommerce businesses. Having been involved in the formative days of Asos and the recent meteoric success of Boohoo, Debbi will bring leadership, energy, process and a great sense of style to Little Black Dress. We’re looking forward to bringing even more success to the Manchester retail fashion scene, and investing in great people along the way.”
