Matalan has reopened its shop in Mirdif City Centre shopping mall in Dubai, as it continues to expand its portfolio in the Middle East.
The store has been open for five years and was closed temporarily to be modernised. It opened again on 1 May.
The new-format store has just over 15,000 sq ft of space and offers womenswear, kidswear and home ranges.
This takes the total number of Matalan stores trading in the United Arab Emirates to 13 and 26 stores trading in the Middle East collectively – all operated under franchise by BTC Fashion.
Matalan opened its third store in Oman last week, in the new Mall of Muscat. A new store in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is also planned to open in the coming weeks.
Matalan’s international director, Damian Hopkins said: “Matalan is ideally placed for international expansion, both in terms of our product and price proposition, to meet the demands of families in these international territories, as well as in the UK. We continue to develop our international franchise store strategy with additional new stores planned throughout the Middle East and Europe”.
