Start-Rite appoints new CEO

Children’s footwear brand Start-Rite has appointed Kate Tansley as its chief executive officer.

She will take over from former CEO Ian Watson, who resigned from the role on 31 January.

Tansley joined Start-Rite in April 2018 as product director, “bringing extensive retail experience through her previous roles at major blue-chip organisations”.

She previously held positions with HarrodsTescoTK Maxx and BHS

Tansley commented on the announcement: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity. I believe strongly in our strategic direction and will continue to build on the foundations that the team have established over the last three years.”

Peter Lamble, non-executive chairman at Start-Rite shoes, said: “We are very happy to be able to make an internal promotion of Kate into the role of CEO. The board is committed to our strategic direction and Kate’s appointment reflects that.”
