The Baukjen Group raises funds for US expansion

The Baukjen Group has launched a crowdfunding campaign today to help it expand into America.

The group, which owns Baukjen womenswear and Isabella Oliver maternity label, hopes to raise £400,000 by the end of December via CrowdCube.

The investment from customers is being earmarked to develop a physical presence in US through pop-ups and concessions.

Isabella Oliver is currently stocked in Nordstrom in the US. UK stockists include John Lewis and Next.

Within the last two years, net sales for the British group have grown on average 26%. Annual sales to April 2018 were £18m, with a net revenue of £10.7m, and EDITDA of £471,000.

Baukjen de Swaan Arons, founder and creative director, said: “We are a brand that puts our customer at the heart of everything we do, so crowdfunding seemed like the right fit for our business. We’re excited to be democratising this round of investment and opening the opportunity up to our customers, and everyone who believes in our vision, to own shares in our business.”
