Young designers from the London College of Fashion will show at London Fashion Week for the first time next month.
Collections from 10 MA students will be shown at a debut catwalk show on February 15 at the Royal Opera House as part of LFW’s autumn 13 season.
The 10 collections were handpicked by a judging panel made up of Guardian journalist Simon Chilvers, Lou Stoppard, associate editor of fashion film website Showstudio, professor Frances Corner, pro-vice chancellor at the London College of Fashion and Lee Lapthorne, founder of On/Off.
Chilvers said that there was an “impressive breadth of skills” from both the men’s and womenswear designers. He added: “By becoming involved in London Fashion Week, London College of Fashion underlines the capital’s reputation as the fashion city which consistently produces the next generation of industry stars.”
Alongside the catwalk showcase, collections from the MA students will also be shown at Victoria House Basement, with the MA13 Exhibition displaying photography, footwear and accessories from February 16 to 18.
