Leather goods brand Tusting to open Jermyn Street pop-up

British leather brand Tusting will open its first shop in December after 139 years of trading.

The family-run business, which makes leather bags, briefcases and luggage for men and women, will open a pop-up shop at 39 Jermyn Street in London and has also agreed a deal with Chinese distribution partner Jiabao Sheng Shi Beijing Trading Co to open a shop in the new year in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, in the Kerry Centre, close to luxury brands including Louis Vuitton and Hermes, according to the Evening Standard.

It was reported that the company, which started as a tannery in 1875, has been building up its wholesale business overseas, with 40% of its sales now coming from Japan.

Tusting already has a factory store at its base in Olney, Buckinghamshire, and has 13 UK stockists including Fortnum & Mason and Jaeger.
