Levi Strauss poaches Nike president

Levi Strauss has appointed former Nike vice president and retail manager for the US Carrie Ask as executive vice president and president of global retail.

Ask will join the denim brand in February and will report to Chip Bergh, Levi’s president and chief executive.

In her new role she will be responsible for leading all aspects of the firm’s global retail business, including 2,700 owned and operated stores, franchise stores and outlet stores.

Bergh said Ask had a “successful track record of driving retail strategy and execution at leading brands” and that she is “recognised as a collaborative leader who delivers strong results and we know she’ll be a powerful addition to our team”.
