Levi’s is to launch a “smart jacket” for cyclists that will allow wearers to answer their phones by touching their sleeves.
The jacket has been developed in partnership with Google as part of Project Jacquard, whereby the two companies have teamed up to create a system for weaving technology into fabric. It will launch next spring.
As well as answering calls, it will allow wearers to access directions and information on nearby places, and change their music.
It will sit within the Levi’s Commuter line of performance-driven cyclewear, sold in stores and at levi.com. A launch date has yet to be confirmed.
