LFW show of the day: Biba

The comeback of iconic 1960s label Biba lifted London Fashion Week on opening day yesterday.

The autumn 08 Biba collection, which was created by a team of unknown young designers, showed mini-dresses, puffball skirts, ruffle details, jewel-gem colours, embellished tops topped off with 1920s-style cone shape hats.

Biba was the highlight of the opening day's catwalk shows which included Paul Costelloe and the debut LFW catwalk from Jaeger under its Jaeger London line.

  • Its refreshing to see Bibas collection designed by a 'team of unknown designers' instead of highly paid celebrities who have no design training. I would like to see craft go back to craftsman in general who are the rightful owners instead of 'celebrities'.
