Liberty appoints new CEO

Liberty London has appointed former Luxottica Group boss Adil Mehboob-Khan as its new chief executive.

Mehboob-Khan joined Luxottica in 2014 and before that was CEO of hair products group Wella for four years, and vice-president of beauty for Europe at Procter & Gamble for six years.

“Few, if any, companies have Liberty London’s rich and storied heritage. With its landmark central London store, unique fabrics business and exclusive Liberty London collection, this national icon has significant global potential. I am thrilled to join at such an exciting time,” said Mehboob-Khan.

Marco Capello, chairman of Liberty London and managing partner of BlueGem Capital Partners, added: ‘We have been searching for an individual of Adil’s calibre for some time and are excited to welcome a person with broad experience across beauty, brand and retail to drive us to the next level.”

Liberty’s managing director Ed Burstell left in October 2016.
