Harrogate Lingerie  Exhibition shelved

Harrogate Lingerie & Swimwear Exhibition has cancelled its February edition. The trade show’s longer-term future is unclear after exhibitors switched to new rival event Moda Lingerie & Swimwear.

In place of the usual fair, organiser Brintex will instead run two hotel shows, one in Harrogate on February 28 to March 1 and another in Bournemouth from March 14-15.

A spokesman for the show said it had fallen victim to the difficult market, and added that too many exhibitors had pulled out for it to continue. He added that there was the appetite within Brintex for the show to resurface.

Brands that have previously exhibited at Harrogate told Drapers they would show at the Moda Lingerie & Swimwear show in Birmingham on February 21-23. Nigel Addison, UK sales manager at Eveden, which owns brands including Freya and Fantasie, said: “There needs to be one national show and Moda’s location is easier for visitors to attend.”
