Lingerie show Mode City has moved its dates forward by two months for next year in response to demand from brands and buyers to better match international buying calendars.
Paris-based Mode City and its sister show Interfilière, which focuses on fabrics, will both move from September to July 9 to 11 for 2011.
Organiser Eurovet said exhibitors and buyers have been asking for the shows to be moved to the beginning of the buying season for several years.
Eurovet said in a statement: “Organised around the presentation of the collections, right after Bread & Butter, Berlin, this time is ideal for northern countries and the global community in general. The dates are before 14 July, after the first weekend of sales for the southern
European countries, and right before the beach season is in full swing.”
Mode City, which traditionally runs at the same time as luxury womenswear exhibition Prêt à Porter, will retain a presence in September to allow brands access to the buyers who come to Paris for Prêt à Porter. Cruise by Mode City will take place from September 3 to 5 2011.
The 2010 edition of Mode City will take place from September 4 to 6 at Porte de Versailles, Paris.
