Young fashion retailer Lipsy broke its record for online sales last week following the launch of the Kardashian Kollection, with some garments already selling on eBay for twice their RRP.
The brand, the brainchild of US reality TV stars Kim and Khloe Kardashian, launched at Lipsy at 10am on October 24.
The range has a higher-end feel and price point from the sisters’ original collection, which launched in Dorothy Perkins for autumn 12.
A number of styles sold out in the first day including a lace jumpsuit retailing for £75 and a blue leopard print bodycon dress at £60.
To mark the launch Khloe Kardashian conducted a live Twitter chat using the #KhloeKKLipsy hashtag, which became a top trending topic in the UK. More than 50,000 vistors accessed the Lipsy website during the one hour chat and by 4pm the retailer had smashed its record for daily online sales.
A black skater dress, which retails for £65, is now being sold on eBay for £150, while a beaded dress that originally sold for £55 is now selling for £89. A lace jumpsuit is selling for £99, up from the £75 it originally sold for at Lipsy. It follows a similar response to Marks & Spencer’s pink coat.
The women’s young fashion chain has also revealed it renewing the partnership with the reality stars with a new range scheduled for spring 14.
