Little Mistress poaches international French Connection sales head

Little Mistress Group has poached French Connection’s international sales manager Fatemeh Nassarpour to help ramp up its international growth.

The group, which includes the eponymous womenswear label, Paper Dolls and Girls on Film, has appointed Nassarpour to the new role of head of international sales and development.

She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies in key markets such as the markets such as Asia and the Middle East. The group currently exports to Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, the US, South Africa, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, Slovakia and the Middle East.

The group recorded turnover of £18m in 2014 and it is projected to increase to £25m this year, with the majority of sales coming from the UK. It is now targeting export sales of 50% of UK turnover.

Chief executive Mark Ashton said: “We now have a very strong base and business model which we believe will be extremely attractive to international retailers globally. We are already selling very well in Europe via etailers such as Zalando and department store groups such as Peek & Cloppenburg and Alshaya Group.

“Additionally, we have received some very attractive offers to develop via franchises and shop-in -shops from various markets. Footwear is also going to be an important growth area for us following a successful debut in autumn 14.”

Chairman Mark Smith added: “We are already in discussions with leading retail groups in China and the Emirates.”

Nassarpour joined French Connection in October 2010.
