Liza Canneford returns to Jaeger

The former product director at Jaeger, Liza Canneford, has returned to the retailer nine months after departing.

Canneford left the business in January but returned this month in the new role of womenswear product director.

In the interim she worked as a brand consultant. Canneford first joined the firm in 2013 as director of womenswear. She was previously head of buying at Marks & Spencer for 14 years.

Jaeger fell into administration in April. Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group (EWM) bought the brand name as well as its debt from Jaeger’s former owner, private equity firm Better Capital, in March.

The brand relaunched for autumn 17 with a renewed emphasis on its heritage and plans to open more standalone stores.

Jaeger announced plans to close 20 of its 46 stores a week after going into administration. It moved out of its flagship on Regent Street at the beginning of 2016.

The brand also has concessions in John Lewis, House of Fraser and Days Department Store, the new concept from EWM.
