French luxury goods group LVMH has posted a 1% rise in fashion and leather goods like-for-like first quarter sales, boosted by strong performance in Japan.
Fashion and leather goods sales reached €2.96bn (£2.02bn) in the first three months of the year, with Fendi, Celine, Givenchy, Kenzo and Berluti reported to have performed well.
Louis Vuitton was said to have displayed “strong creative momentum” thanks to new product launches and growth from existing lines.
Overall, group like-for-likes increased 3% to €8.3bn (£6bn). LMVH said it would continue to focus efforts on developing its brands, maintaining strict cost control and target investments in quality and distributions.
