Logistics firm Bleckmann targets UK fashion market

Dutch logistics firm Bleckmann has appointed former Damco sales manager Stuart Hearn to the new role of UK key account manager, as it ramps up its focus on the UK fashion market.

Hearn has over 22 years of logistics business development experience, most recently focused on the fashion and lifestyle sector as strategic sales manager at freight forwarding company Damco from July 2013 to March 2015.

He was business development manager at  logistics company Total Logistics from March 2010 to June 2013 and general manager at DHL Supply Chain from March 2005 to March 2010.

Bleckmann’s customers include Abercrombie & Fitch, Michael Kors, O’Neill, Coach and Wolverine and it is now targeting the UK as a strategic growth market. It is also planning to further develop its six locations in Asia, and expand operations into the Middle East and the US over the next few years.

Hearn said: “This is an amazing opportunity for me; building a brand, infrastructure and customer relationships in the UK for Bleckmann.”

The company said it will build on its operations in Benelux and an existing site in Harlow in Essex, which is set to reach capacity shortly.
