London debut for Pipa store

A new designer fashion boutique, called Pipa, has opened its doors in Little Venice, west London.

The boutique, on Formosa Street, is designed to be “a home from home” for women of all ages, selling clothing, make-up and homeware. It also has a dedicated children’s play area.

Pipa has been set up by former make-up artist and London College of Fashion graduate Bhavna Miglani Boesen, who said: “I’m really excited to be opening Pipa in Little Venice as I fell in love with the relaxed village feel of the area when I moved here many years ago, and I wanted to capture that informal character in my shop.”

Pipa sells designer labels and bridge brands including Baum und Pferdgarten, Antik Batik, By Malene Birger and Ginger & Smart alongside own brand Pipa London.

Pipa London features hand-embroidered silk kaftans and resortwear for women and a girlswear range of cotton and linen dresses, tops and trousers, all of which are made in Delhi in India.

Boesen added: “The clothes are made in Delhi by our family tailor and his assistants. So it’s on a small scale, but we are happy to be able to support this small-scale industry. All leftover fabric is turned into shopping bags.”

The store also sells jewellery, lingerie and accessories including handbags. Homeware, including scented candles and ceramics, is also available.
