London Fashion Week is to stream catwalk shows live online for the first time this season.
The British Fashion Council (BFC), the organisers of London Fashion Week (LFW), will launch an area on its website where visitors can view LFW fashion shows as they take place at Somerset House and other London locations.
The BFC is yet to reveal which designers will take part.
The BFC will also unveil a digital presentation space at the Somerset House venue where feature films by designers including Hussein Chalayan, Antoni & Alison, Danielle Scutt and Twenty8Twelve will be played.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will also show their film Love & Money – 50 Years of Creative Britain to launch the digital LFW schedule at Somerset House on the morning of Friday, February 19.
Caroline Rush, chief executive of the BFC, said: “This is a significant step in developing our digital strategy. Enhancing designers’ experience and reach through London Fashion Week is an important area of development for the future.”
LFW will take place from February 19 to 24 at Somerset House, London.
